We're looking to establish a home improvement brand, called Smart Home. House painting is one of the things we'll be doing at first but we want to eventually take on multiple home improvement businesses. Here's a more in depth description: The goal of Smart Home Painting, LLC is to be the highest rated painting contractor in the greater Portland, Oregon Area. The company is founded on two concepts: delivering an extraordinary experience to all customers, as well as employees, and building a brand to support and grow individuals, customers, and the community. Eric Saylor and Jason Bay own and operate Smart Home Painting and have a combined 10+ years of experience in the residential painting market. Together, they have worked with over 500 customers and have learned first-hand how to deliver the best overall experience and product to any homeowner looking to repaint the exterior or interior of their home. Smart Home focuses in three key areas to differentiate from the competition: delivering an extraordinary customer experience, establishing a great employee culture and accomplishing and maintaining an excellent online presence (website and review sites). To deliver a truly extraordinary experience, the company has targeted customer care and communication as a focal point. The residential painting industry overwhelmingly lacks continuous professionalism and reliable care for information, quality, and warranties. Unlike the industry, the company wants to develop a lasting brand that stands for quality, reliability, and friendliness. To deliver, employees will be hired who share value and concern for customer care, technology as a supplemental aide, and service as an ongoing process. Establishing a great company culture is an important priority for Smart Home Painting. Without employees that love coming to work every day, delivering an extraordinary experience to customers is inhibited. Establishing a great company culture initially derives from leadership and training from the top. A considerable amount of time will be spent on interviewing for the best employees, both in qualifications and fit to the company. Communication skills and prior experience in customer service positions are a must for new candidates. Additionally, management wants to recognize and empower employees. Every employee, including painters, should feel like any idea to better the business is of value and will be taken seriously and potentially implemented. The long-term goal is to have the best online presence of any residential painting company in the United States. First, focus will be on delivering the absolute best experience for current customers. In turn, we’ll ask customers to leave their feedback on our services via review sites, testimonials, and reference letters. Primary focus will be on these review sites to begin with: Yelp, Trustlink.org, Google Places and Angie’s List. These are the 4 primary review sites consumers use to search for and do research on home improvement companies. Leveraging these sites with positive reviews will drive the online presence to attain a higher percentage of bids than the competition and establish a company where customers seek Smart Home’s services.
