Digital Tomorrow Today
Never before has technology changed so quickly and so powerfully. From web 2.0 to the current trend of social media, the digital landscape as we know it is changing on a daily basis. For brands and their agencies there is barely enough time to manage the daily changes with the major social networks leaving no time to plan for the 'next big thing'. This is where we come in.
Digital Tomorrow Today is a new UK based consultancy founded by Jamie Riddell & Katherine Jerman, successful founders of Cheeze, one of the UK's most recognizable and successful Digital Agencies. (http://bit.ly/chz99designs)
The new consultancy is headed up by Jamie Riddell who has built a reputation as being one of the leading practical thinkers on future technology and how it can work for brands. (http://bit.ly/thisiswhatido)
The new consultancy looks to continue the trend for looking 'over the horizon' to see what is coming and to translate that into workable information for brands and or agencies (that represents brands.)
The global consultancy will be in three distinct parts, an open blog which will cover emerging technologies or trends (mobile, apps, consoles, social networks) ; a membership side which will go into greater depth about these changes and how brands can harness them, plus bespoke consultancy for defined projects.
International, medium to large brands and digital agencies looking to gain a stream of knowledge to grow their businesses.
Businesses that can afford a premium service (400 GBP/month membership), consultancy fees in the tens of thousands.
Large brands (P&G etc.) will usually have their own resource/department so we don't need to worry too much about them. We do not want to be targeting small businesses, this is a premium product.
The outcome will be the defining logo which will set the tone for the site and all brand communications.
We need a brand identity to include the company name and an iconic logo. The domain name http://www.digitaltomorrowtoday.com can be used if you can make it work.
This needs to be a bespoke design, no stock images or clip art.
We will be active in all channels so the logo will need to work on large scale (A4 prints, powerpoint/keynote presentations) to business cards and stand alone logos to work with social network avatar spaces.
As much of our profile will be social network based, we need to ensure the logo can work independently of the company name which may not be as clear in a standard avatar window.
The brand needs to demonstrate 'over the horizon' viewing, lay person speaking, quality, credibility and confidence. This businesses will always be looking forward so I think we should not be focusing too much on 'elements' like mobile 'phones as they will date us quickly.
This is a startup with a very strong heritage, it is independent of any previous company or partner so we need to show strength and confidence as we are.
If you imagined this logo was an independent film maker you would see at the start of a movie, that would be a good place to think for quality and credibility.
