The Executive Whisperer
In 1991, after a 25 Year career as a Senior Executive in the corporate world in I established my own consultancy practice, PEPworldwide. Via this business I have become one of Australasia’s most experienced executive developers. My clients have included Federal Cabinet Ministers, CEO’s of publicly listed corporations, Partners and Managing Partners of the Big 4 Accounting Firms, and Secretaries and Deputy Secretaries within the Australian Public Service. I have over 3000 hours of “1 on 1” development sessions with senior executives.
I am now establishing a separate boutique Practice to offer counselling to Senior Executives to address behavioural issues - relationship issues, addictions, depression, anxiety, loss and grief. With the blurring between home and work, these issues are no longer "personal" and are considered a "responsibility" of the enterprise. Addressing these issues positively impacts the client executives' performance.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Modern History from Sydney University, a Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy, am an accredited Coach, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, and am studying for a Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
My target audience is senior executives in Corporate and Government in Australia. These executives are experiencing problems in their lives, which are effecting their performance. These problems can range from mental illness such as anxiety and depression to symptoms of deeper issues shown up as staff intimidation. In the past these were treated as "personal issues" but enterprises are understanding that these impact strongly on staff turnover, executive performance, talent retention and sometimes expose the organisation to legal claims. Many organisations now have Employee Assistance Programs which offer only basic support .
An important secondary target is the Human Resources Management Department who either identify these issues or are the place where the troubled executive first goes for help.
What differentiates my offering is that I have a unique combination of skills having been a senior executive myself, post graduate qualifications in counselling and psychotherapy, and extensive development coaching with senior executives.
The title of the Practice is a play on the "horse or dog whisperer", who has the ability in a calm way to achieve remarkable results with animals ("beings") who are seemingly troubled and for whom conventional methods ("horse trainers") have not been successful.
The Whisperer image communicates a lot of qualities which i want to capture in my logo. The Whisperer is calm, very experienced, very sensitive and empathetic, picks up subtle nuances, eschews the conventional approach, is a brilliant listener, and produces effective results with the most intractable problems. At the same time, the Whisperer is highly professional, groomed like a corporate executive, conducts a first class practice, has a fee structure consistent with his experience and his rare combination of skills and is similar to a medical specialist.
The logo must be suitable for inclusion on a professional looking business card which lists the Whisperers qualifications and also suitable to appear on web sites and brochures describing the practice and its services.
The logo will NOT include animals, numbers, $ signs, cartoons or anything which suggests a lack of seriousness.
http://www.onelifecounselling.com.au is a site which uses many of the words appropriate to my Practice, though I don't like the photo, the font type or font size.
http://www.stephensonmansellgroup.com is an organisation whose target market is exactly the same as mine, which offers professional services in the Human Resources arena and has a similar fee structure to mine.
