Community & Non-Profit
We are a collective wellness center that offers classes, support and services for all things related to motherhood. Our guiding principle is "for the community, by the community" and our mission is to create a safe and nurturing space where mamas leave feeling more supported, loved, nurtured and connected than they were when they came in. We equally target working and stay-at-home moms and there are three main areas of focus for what we offer: 1. Support in all things motherhood/baby related. So think Infant care 101, Baby food making (puree parties), Support groups (all topics – from the basics of sleep training, potty training to the more serious topics like miscarriage, pregnancy termination, etc.), Mommy & Me classes: art, cooking, early readers, theatrical story time, etc. 2. Self care we will bring nurturing/wellness services into the space – pre/post natal yoga, Mommy & Me fitness, and ‘Express’ spa services (Massage Mondays, Waxing Wednesdays, Facial Fridays) 3. Inspiration we will support mamas who are inspired by business endeavors or other community involvement areas outside of being a mom that excite them. So, we will offer a ‘Momketplace’ for Maker Mamas to sell their goods (think a real-life Etsy shop), Mom-preneuer support groups and coaching for Mamas who want to leave their current job to start their own business, etc. Additionally, for WAHMs, we will have a select number of co-working spaces available in our ‘Treehouse’ (professional office space on second level)
I did some very rough initial logo sketch ideas and have also attached those. I started with the 3 ‘o’s in ‘Cocoon’ representing the three areas we offer. The first being represented by the baby face and the two others the (mama) boobs. This is not a direction I actually want to go, but I like idea of doing something with the 3 ‘o’s Another thought was that these are a progression – like a full cocoon, then opening up and finally an emergence of the butterfly (the very top example). This also signifies the coming into a safe space (the full cocoon) for support, opening up a bit to receive self-care/nuture and then acquiring transformation to go back out into their world a better Mom/wife/friend/community member/business woman, etc. (all the hats we women wear) I met with my two counterparts on this, and one of them had a slightly modified idea but similar concept, where the ‘o’s all look like the cocoon (or even a caterpillar for the first o and then the cocoon for the two ‘o’s next to each other) and then the butterfly emerges out of the ‘n’. And finally, ‘Where do you hang’ will be a key catchphrase we will play with in marketing and could be visually represented. Please also see the attached mood boards to get a sense of our aesthetic and how the physical space will come together. I also attached a 'Mama' hat that I like the look of and could be inspiration for the logo as well.
