dbluest got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Consulting firm needs to attract international politicians running for President of their country
Check out dbluest's Logo design contest…
We are a political consulting firm that offers strategy, public opinion research, and campaign consulting to individuals running for public office all over the world. For example, if someone what's to be the President of the Philippines, for example, we will provide them with strategy, message, campaign management and structure, advertising scripts, and public opinion research for their campaign. The backbone of our work is public opinion research, meaning surveys and focus groups, and our job is to take help candidate bridge their political platform to meet the needs and concerns of the people. We translate the numbers from polling into messages.
Logo types to explore
We would like a clean logo, that is slick and modern. We are trying to communicate to clients that we are modern, but serious, young and innovative, but professional. We would rather be seen as creative than traditional. We use Maiandra font in MS Word as our preferred font. The clients we want to appeal to are game-changer politicians; political upstarts who embrace unconventional and different approaches in both the way they govern (transparency, e-governance, crowd-sourcing) and the way they communicate with people (social media, online town halls, direct engagement). Our biggest vulnerability is our youth, so we need to project professionalism and experience (which we have). We will be using the logo primarily on our website and business cards, so t should be something that pops out of a white space. We want our logo to stand out and be bold, like the clients we are trying to attract. We are open to other colors, as long as it is cohesive, and ideally includes, the dark blue we use in our communications as the theme of the website will like be based around those blues. We would like our logo to have some element of "action" or "active-ness" to it. We'd like it to feel like it's leaning in some direction (figuratively) than static. We want to try to convey an element of forward-leaning, innovative, nimble, edgy, modern, and ourselves game-changers. One idea that we have in our heads is using the iconography of a path to convey that we will point them in the right direction to go. In general, I like monochromatic and simple looks. The logo should be able to be understood globally, as our clients are more likely to be international, and not from the Western World. That said, we should avoid specific flags or images of the globe, as that is a bit too cliche, but open to abstract images that convey that we are international. At the end of the day, we want our logo to project that we are professional, modern, edgy, and capable of providing expertise and hand-holding to politicians as they seek a career in public service.
