"Fermottair" is a cream liqueur brand that will be launching soon, manufactured in Guernsey in the Channel Islands (British Isles). The initial product will be a traditional cream liqueur made with cream from Guernsey and Jersey cows (the two largest islands of the Channel Islands), the only one of its kind in the world and the first in almost 30 years. Future products will be of a cream-base or very similar in nature. Guernsey and Jersey cows are famous all over the world for their high-quality unique milk (a slightly golden colour, high in protein & butterfat and very rich) and this is the key selling point for the brand. The brand will be positioned to appeal to current customers of cream liqueurs as an ultra-premium alternative. The core customer base, whilst it has wide appeal to all ages/classes, is affluent people over the age of 40. The brand needs to portray heritage and premium quality, but not so far as to alienate potential younger customers. It is crucial that Guernsey & Jersey (collectively "the Channel Islands") play a key role in the brand. "Fermottair" means "to farm in a small way" in a historical Guernsey language known as Guernesais, which is similar to French and now very rarely spoken. The cream comes from two dairies, one in Guernsey and one in Jersey. The Guernsey Dairy sources its product exclusively from "Guernsey cows" from four farms in Guernsey and The Jersey Dairy sources its product exclusively from "Jersey cows" from fourteen farms in Jersey. Milk from Guernsey and Jersey cows is commonly referred to as "gold top" milk in the UK (that term is unfortunately trademarked, so we can't use it) due to its colour and premium quality. The first product to be sold under the Fermottair brand will be packaged in a white ceramic bottle and it is likely that future products in the line will also be bottled in ceramic, too.
