We are a juvenile design company, providing high quality, modern products with a vintage sensibility. Our primary launch product is designed to help new parents capture the frequent milestones that their babies pass, bringing the "back of the photo" descriptions to the photo itself, allowing a robust sharing experience on social media sites. Eventually, complimentary products for the nursery will be offered, including photo frames, decor items and keepsake/gift items. Our target audience is expectant and new parents, their friends and family. We make it easy for them to have good taste, and our product indelibly augments the cuteness of a moment in baby's life, without competing with the beautiful baby herself. In a fast moving, modern, digitized world, sometimes it is refreshing to turn back the clock to vintage sensibilities. Our product lets babies and children be babies and children. We expect that our target audience will be buying our product in large baby retail outlets such as BuyBuyBaby and Babies R Us, but an enhanced product will most likely be offered in boutique baby stores at a higher price point.
Logo types to explore
Our brand name is ChooChooPoo, but those three words do not have to be as one - they may be separated as part of the logo. We are interested in a logo with a vintage vibe. We have two schools of thought with respect to the logo. The first incorporates a line drawing of a vintage baby - the Morton Salt logo is the closest example to the type of feeling we would like to evoke, and we attach another rough example above of a line drawing of a vintage-style baby. The second school of thought is more of an emblem-type logo, perhaps with a train going horizontally around the emblem, as if it were an orb. Although we had these two initial thoughts for our logo, we are completely open to new and innovative interpretations of our brand, or even an interpretation that incorporates both of our stated elements. Our tagline is "ChooChooPoo....all aboard for Destination Adorable!" This tagline does not need to be a part of the logo, but we mention it as a way of familiarizing designers with our brand. If one adjective could be used for our brand and our products, it would be ADORABLE. It's the word we want exclaimed when people see our products, and we want our logo to reflect that. ChooChooPoo is a nonsense word that I made up when my daughter was a baby. It's part of a little song I sing to her, and also a nickname. But, because it has the sound "Poo," I would like to avoid any element in the logo design that evokes any association with defecation. For those of you who are not as familiar with the English language, "poo" in English slang can mean feces, so therefore, I do not want any logo with the color brown, and please, if you decide to run with a choo choo train, please do not fill the cargo cars with coal, or anything that could be mistaken as something other than "adorable."
