Audiologe
Greetings Designers! It feels right to begin by introducing myself. So, I’m Robert, I produce music and do audio work for films. Visual and sonic creative spaces get me going, so I'm quite excited about this contest idea. Life has led to the start of an agency, so here we are! Very much looking forward to working with you.
About the business:
Audiologe will provide an end to end sound solution for film-makers. The primary customers are expected to be advertising agencies, film production companies and independent film producers who out-source and contract their audio needs.
What's the uniqueness? Often when making a film, the individual parts of audio may have to be pieced together through different agencies and freelancers. Production (location recording), Music (Composing & Mix), and Post-production (Dialogue edit/sync, Foley, Sound Design & Mix) are areas I want to harbor under one single roof. A merging of the creative (emotion) and the technical (precision), for the film-makers' convenience. A big part of the work is about designing emotional experiences.
Incorporating "loge" into the name is an attempt to metaphorically convey this small space as shared by designer and client, where they hang and creatively forge their audio. A relaxed setting.
The guiding mantra is that everyone has their own unique tone, their sonic identity if you will. Bringing that tone to life is always the goal in the company.
The hope is for a logomark that either captures the mantra, or holistically illustrates the services on offer (recording, post-production, music). But if you are able to capture both, then that is absolutely splendid! Not dead set on a particular style yet, but leaning towards modern 2017-2018 trends such as minimalism. Not too big on very literal designs though, and as much as I like slick thin lines, I'm not sure how well it would do here. That said, I'm ultimately at my depth with seeing what stylistic possibilities exist for Audiologe and its concept, what would best suit it to enable a radiating aura.
Initial sketches have been made internally, but they have been unsatisfactory in both idea and design. They don't say enough. Here is a Pinterest board with other designs I liked when scouring the web. Descriptions added to some logos. https://pin.it/xsyom4bf7ogi2d
If it's of any interest, the ages of negotiating clients are most likely to be in their late 20's and up, mixed genders, so a gender neutral design is preferred. Mostly, we're talking about people of creative profession.
I'm thinking, to illustrate the variety of emotions that sound designers have control over, a burst of different colors on a part of the logo may do the trick? contrasted with the rest of the logo being monochromatic to make the burst pop even more.
Preferably, the logo would work in black and white as well, should the need for this ever arise.
There is but a single steadfast criteria. Looking for a logomark, rather than a logotype. Entries will be judged primarily by logomark design. That said, including text next to, or under the logomark is completely fine!
Worth mentioning is that the future holds possibilities for manufacturing and sales of products, both physical and digital, on which this logomark would be imprinted.
