jennipollack got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Candle Company that Donates to Shelter Dogs needs a Beautiful Logo!

Yes - in my name/logo, DOG stands for "Doing Others Good" and it's important that customers know this in the logo somewhere, somehow.
I am selling soy candles and donating a percentage of profit from every candle sold to local animal shelters. I have a HUGE passion for rescue dogs, and that is what drives me and this business. Each candle is hand-scented and hand-poured by me, and they are meant to be clean, bright and pretty so they fit into any home decor. My candles are high quality and all completely handcrafted, and I want the logo and labels to reflect that - so they should have a sort of organic and handmade feel, nothing too geometric or sharp. I don't want kitschy or cute or large images of dogs, either (although a small icon of a dog could work as it's simple)... I envision this logo being clean, beautiful and sophisticated but with a little whimsy because I am helping dogs, and dogs are playful, after all :). My target audience will be mostly women, probably between ages 25-55, who have extra income to spend on luxury items like handcrafted soy candles for their home, as gifts for others, etc. These ladies are moved to purchase my candles over others especially for their appealing feminine aesthetic, and also because they feel good that the higher price point helps a good cause.
There are a few designs and labels by other companies (both related to candle companies and not) that I would love to supply to you so you can see what kinds of designs and colors and such that I like! Those are attached here. I am also attaching a couple of photos of the candles I'm making so you can get a contextual idea about where the logo will be displayed. I really want it to visutally communicate that it's handmade, but high quality, and that it relates to dogs - but in a sophisticated and whimsical way, not really corny, if that makes sense. Thank you!

Working with Nicole was wonderful! She was very receptive to my creative brief and all of the feedback I gave during the logo tweaking and refining process. She was more than willing to help me make my vision a reality for my logo, and she had a nice and positive disposition along the way too, which is always lovely to work with :).
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
