Blue Magic Pty Ltd is a newly-formed company that will produce and distribute entertainment media for Australian children. This will primarily be in the form of 3D-animated, episodic television content and interactive books made for the iPad and other tablet-style devices.
The brand is fun, adventurous and focused on delivering quality, original content to youngsters through cable TV, online streaming channels, DVD/Blu-ray and mobile apps.
Our core target market is Australian children aged 2-10 (and their parents).
As noted below, the logo will also be used to represent us to Australian TV networks, production companies and content partners, so it needs to walk a delicate balance between professionalism and frivolity. It should be fun, but not overly childish (no child-style, hand-written fonts and no Comic Sans! :)).
The logo needs to be fun and accessible, but not cheesy or excessively juvenile. While the products are aimed at children, the logo will mainly be seen by parents, content partners and production companies, so it needs to be professional in tone.
The font should relatively chunky, so that it reproduces well online and in reduced formats. The "Pty Ltd" can be excluded from the design and the tagline "Children's Entertainment" can be included in a smaller size if you like.
Blue is obviously an important colour and a stylised flame effect may serve well as an icon to accompany the logo, but you're completely free to come up with a different approach if inspired in an alternative direction. An icon of some sort is a must-have.
It's important that this logo is delivered in vector format and that it looks good in both colour and mono, and when reduced in size (for use on the spine of a book cover, for example). If a commercial font is used, please ensure that it is royalty-free and affordable, as we're likely to use the logo font throughout other elements of the brand's style guide.
