How Michael Done started their logo design journey
BIG DEAL BBQ
I am a small entrepreneur/self proclaimed Chef. Over the past few years my wife and I have shared great food with family and friends and were asked to bottle our secret BBQ Sauce. After a long trial and very little error we launched the sauce into a test market. It has been well received and we are ready to move forward and release a commercial product.
The inspiration around the name, Big Deal BBQ, came from a saying , "I'm kind of big deal." For people who have not had our product(s) we would like to market that they to could be a big deal. Cooking with our products can take an average family outdoor griller to the esteemed pitmaster.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Our desired audience are people that love to cook but struggle with the complexity's of true BBQ. Our martket is not to the large masses of $1 bottle of BBQ sauce for chicken nuggets. Our customers will spend the extra money for a unique complex fresh northwest family owned and operated sauce.
The product is used now in one restaurant and we are looking to expand into upscale grocery stores. We would also like to have the products available for special packaging in gift baskets.
We are looking for a logo to represent all of our products which can be used with a proprietary font to add ingredients, types, and specialties. The logo will be initially used for a bottle label, metal tin labels, shirts, hats, business cards, factory invoices, and other business related products. The logo should be adaptable and sizable but will mostly used no bigger than 2x4 inches. We like brown kraft color paper and black ink. We like the look of rugged/northwestern/classy with the incorporation of fire.
We want a LOGO that is unique but simple. It will say, "That's kinda of a big deal" without saying the words.
