MumsRecommend.com - Shopping for baby, Recommended by mums
I am a mum who had her children later in life and made many expensive mistakes when shopping for buggy’s and other baby equipment. I find baby websites to be 'babyish', too many blues and pinks and feel insulted that I am expected to completely loose my taste and appreciation of style just because I have become a mum. I still like to read aspiration magazines, shop from clean and stylish websites and stay in beautifully designed hotels - even though I have had children. I would like to shop for my baby in an online baby store that I am proud, rather than embarrassed to boast about. I have been saving for 4 years to get together enough funds to create my dream online baby store. I have resigned from my job, moved from London to Australia with my family and have 6 months to get this business up and running. I have experience in Launching websites within a corporate environment, as this one is my own I am determined that this will be the best launch yet! This is the start of many projects that will need to be done to bring this dream to a reality. I want to launch this in the UK first shortly followed by an Australian launch.
Women, first time pregnant. She is still working in middle management and expects to return to work. She reads Grazia and Elle magazine. She loves watching Ugly Betty, self improvement programs, Interior design programs and re-runs of SATC and Friends. She shops for fashion online, loves Top Shop as well as a number of designer stores, her favourite being Prada. Since being pregnant she has purchased most of her maternity clothes form Top Shop or http://www.asos.com. She is very excited about being pregnant and is looking forward to buying all the baby stuff, she only wants to buy the best, practicality is important but how it looks is also important. She has been looking at what buggy the stars are pushing and although doesn’t like to admit it is swayed by celebrity style. She is convinced that having a baby isn’t going to change her life and she will continue to always look stylish and never ‘let herself go’. She enjoys nights out with her friends even if she isn’t drinking now. She is obsessed with looking at baby equipment and clothes online but has no idea of what she should be buying, she rings all of her friends who have had babies to ask their opinion and reads reviews whenever she can.
I am looking for a logo represent MumsRecommend.com which could also work with Mumsrecommend.com.au
1. Distintive and instantly recongnisable.
2. The typeface should be clear, simple and bold. We want something that stands out.
3. Need to define the difference between the two words 'mums' and 'recommend' to make the URL easy to read
4. Logo must include the strapline 'shopping for babies, recommended by mums'
Here is an example of what we are trying to avoid:
Here's one that breaks the words with colour in beauty - http://www.thebeautyquest.co.uk/
Here's one that we have been using but looks too much like a hair site - http://www.mumsrecommend.com
Please feel free to experiment with colors! These will be used in the site design.
The files we will require are:
Print file format - .ai (CMYK)
Web file format - .jpg and layered .psd (RGB)
Please do not use any stock images or clip art in the logo
