I need 10 badges that volunteers will earn for contributing to the "Simon Says Freeze" component of VerbCorner, a citizen science project (gameswithwords.org/VerbCorner).
In this project, volunteers code sentences as to whether the sentence describes certain types of events. "Simon Says Freeze" focuses on whether anyone in the sentence has moved. In order to help people without a linguistics PhD understand the task -- and in order to make it more interesting -- the task has a backstory. You can read the backstory in the uploaded screenshot.
Each badge should state the number of points earned (25, 50, 100, 150, 200, 300, 400, 500, 750, or 1000). It probably should have the name of the task ("Simon Says Freeze"), but not necessarily. Each badge should be different.
I prefer the badges to be pictorial in some way, and each one should be different. The picture can be representational or abstract, but should be related to the backstory in some way. You could build off of the "Simon Says Freeze" children's game. You could have different people in everyday activities who have been frozen in ice. Or so on. Please be creative.
***Designs that are just basic ribbons or seals that don't have an obvious relationship to the backstory will be eliminated without comment.***
I have uploaded an example badge from "Philosophical Zombie Hunter" and another one from "Equilibrium". It should be obvious which is which. Yours do NOT need to look like these. It's just to give you an idea.
The goal is for people to find the badges interesting or funny or beautiful. They should be motivated to try to earn the next one.
