This is the 35th year of the SLO Triathlon. "SLO" stands for San Luis Obispo, and the event is put on by the City of San Luis Obispo Parks and Recreation Department. We are looking to create a logo that will be used on marketing materials as well as the Triathlon t-shirts handed out to each participant.

Since we are celebrating 35 years, we would like to have a vintage or throwback look to the first event in 1979. I have attached images of recent years to show what kind of logos that we have used in the past. We are not tied to any of the previous designs, but are showing these as examples of what has been used. The typical Triathlon shirt has an image of a person running, biking and swimming, and this is not necessary, or desired...unless it can be done in a way that is creative. San Luis Obispo is a unique place to live, and the logo needs to reflect the character of the city. The event is held in July, and many people come from outside of the area to participate. The city is surrounded by hills and located a few miles from the ocean. There is a creek that runs through the downtown, and there is a historic Mission which is often depicted in images of the city. San Luis Obispo is also a noted wine region, and many people come to the area for a wine experience. The finished image could be as simple as lettering, but we would rather have something that ties in aspects of the San Luis Obispo community.
