'NsideScoop
We are a startup website that focuses on nightlife, events, and festivals across the country. We deliver timely information about different venues to our users. This is a product owned by a different company. Our core benefit is giving users the ability to see real time occupancy counts and gender ratios of their favorite bars.
We own http://www.nsidescoop.com - so its important to keep the full name in the logo (not the http://www.com, but nsidescoop).
We have two major user groups - the bar owners and the patrons. Want something that appeals to both. They want to have fun, but trust that our results are good.
This is a brand new market and there are 0 global searches / month for "nsidescoop." Literally building this from the ground up.
Think college kids, and more broadly 20-40 year olds looking to have a good time. Can be single people looking for a crowded bar full of the opposite sex, a long time couple wanting to go to a quiet place and hear each other talk, a businessmen out of town for the night looking for a fun place to go, etc...
The bar owners are an important part of this equation as well. So something that is professional enough to be sold.
Our target audience is primarily online. The logo will be used to brand our website, for our twitter icon, for our facebook icon, for the splash screen on our our iOS application, for the app icon, etc... it needs to be versatile.
Web friendly is a must. The Web Design will depend on how we can incorporate the logo into our site. Not for business cards and letterhead - this is just a product - not a company - and an online product at that. Something abstract, something that conveys a meaning of knowing what the "nsidescoop is" - something kind of playful, but serious enough not to be disregarded.
Needs to be simple.Twitter is a great example. Clean, easy to use in a variety of settings (even offline well). Something Web 2.0 - Don't want a bunch of ragged lines or photoshop filters in an effort to make up for lack of true design creativity. Simple, sexy, meaningful, memorable. The colors you chose will be important for our overall branding strategy - so needs at least one color (besides black).
The header for our website will very likely be a cityscape of some sort, so something that can tie into there. Need images for at least white and black backgrounds.
I think cursive fonts are cheesy. They may work for a neon sign, but not our logo.
'NsideScoop or NsideScoop - the ' doesn't matter much in the logo, unless you make it. Feel free to change the ordering of the capital letters - but have a reason why - (nsidescoop, Nsidescoop, nSideScoop, etc...)
