How Alejandro Soza started their logo design journey
My site is dedicated to inform people about hepatitis and liver diseases in general. I am a gastroenterologist and hepatologist working in a university in Chile. I take care of patients with all kind of liver diseases, with a focus on viral hepatitis. I also teach and maintain a research carreer.
All the content in the site is absolutely original, I am not coping, duplicating or translating content.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The liver is the largest organ in the body, with several functions. Common problems related to the liver include hepatitis, cirrhosis, tumors and the need for liver transplantation.
Most people arriving to hepatitis.cl have recently been diagnosed with some form of liver disease or just found that they have an abnormal liver related test. There are many patients engaged in the forum who come back for some advice.
There are some doctors, also, looking for a quick look at some specific disease. This is my personal page as a doctor, where patients can get my contact info for scheduling an appointment.
I am looking for a clean, simple, attractive logo, but it has to keep somewhat an academic or serious look. I don´t want a funny cartoon. It may be even just fonts or some abstract form resembling a liver. I don’t like things too complicated or with too many details. It should have “Enfermedades del Hígado” (Diseases of the Liver) on it, maybe a version with and without this phrase. Probably the definitive webpage will have a withe background.
Take a look at the current webpage (http://www.hepatitis.cl). It is in Spanish, but you can get the idea with Google Translate if you need.
This logo will be the first project in the re-design of the website (http://www.hepatitis.cl). I will run a contest in 99designs for a Wordpress theme (I wanted to make just one contest for the logo and the theme, but it seems that 99designs prefer to have separate contests for the logo and the website). The new website will be multilingual (at least Spanish, English and Chinese).
I would like it delivered in vector format and jpg.
