Alamo Apparel
New apparel company targeting the disaffected citizens of the world. We want to celebrate and represent a sort of - last bastion - of individuality and personal responsibility in the world.
that each person is entitled to the fruits of their own labor.
that each individual has pride in their work and does it for themselves.
They resent all the ways the government gets in the way -
and that mediocrity should not be the new measure of the world!
revolt or create a revolution, but do not accept the world as it is anymore.
Our apparel is for anyone sick of the way things are going:
Strong willed builder types, entrepreneurs, people with big ideas.
The local business owner who is sick of being taxed to death.
People who love freedom and not the broken - bureaucratic world.
Small businesses, students, professionals and the workers bees who create everything around us. They want their fair share, they don't want to suffer fools.
creative types who think *really* outside the box, and people who value hard work, commitment to their craft and don't want interference from outside forces.
Freedom People, you know, like our founding fathers if they were allowed to wear t-shirts. Don't Tread on Me - Live Free or Die, those types of people plus the rest of us who want a more fashionable way to showcase our frustration.
So, I've conceived everything from a silhouette of the actual Alamo building, with a flag proudly standing proud over the top, to much more abstract ideas not involving the building at all.
This logo has to be a beacon though, it is to be what the brand stands for. It needs to be abundantly clear what we are looking at.
Remember that 'Live Free or Die' flag?
Paul Revere's ride, boston tea party.
Some image (doesn't have to have historical context) that is stylized with the company name.
It basically personifies: Rally here (to this mark, to our logo) !

----
I guess I am getting a bit abstract here (but you artists are good at that right?)
I'm a 26 year old kid who is furious that people are treated as 'consumers' that government tries to run our lives, that the TSA scans all our shit at the airports, that no-one seems to be responsible for anything.
I think of this apparel company as a way to express the worlds frustration with where we are, and to hoist a battle flag, a symbol, that some of us are going to stand up to this insanity, put our feet down and make some big changes.
We need a rallying point, we need a X on our map to mark the spot.
The company is named after the battle of the Alamo, and I like that imagery. A group of dedicated, hard working average people standing up to others and living on as legends. Bring that to life.
