LeeHales got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Acornopoly needs a new logo

Acornopoly is a soon to launch online giving application that facilitates peer-2-peer fundraising. Acornopoly provides simple but very clever tools that leverage social capital and amplify giving by asking our friends to help us by giving small amounts. From small acorns big things grow.
Logo types to explore
This logo will be central to the next stage of design for both the demo applications site, sales material and campaign guides. I'm interested in seeing options including a squirrel, acorns, oak tree. Colour options great to show how the logo can be applied in various scenarios. Font I like for web use is Lucida Sans. The core target market for this product is charitable organisations and corporate sponsors of causes looking to purchase smart and effective web tools to drive peer-2-peer fundraising and new donor acquisition. We need to look web 3.0, social ready, clever, a little bit fun but also professional and secure. The logo ideally will have a character/emblem/pictorial mark and this could potentially be separated from the word and be used alone.
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Logo design starts at $299.
