algrano got their new logo & business card by running a design contest:
Create the visual trigger for a global revolution in world agriculture!
Check out algrano's Logo & business card contest…
algrano is an online platform that connects the actors of the global agricultural supply chains (namely coffee, cocoa, tea, fruits). Its first mission is to help producers of globally traded agricultural products, mainly smallholders, to improve their farm management and be better farmers. Its second mission is to contribute to making global agricultural supply chains more transparent. The first target audience will be agricultural producers in developing countries. For them, our internet platform will be a social network by linking them together, it will be an information platform by giving them access to knowledge, it will also be an online management tool by helping them to improve their farm management and finally a public vitrine for their farms to the outside world. The second target audience include various actors along the agricultural supply chain, most of them based in developed countries. For instance, traders, retailers, NGOs, and consumers will be able to access farmers profiles, communicate with producers or even help improving farm management. The supply chain becomes a big community through our network.
Other color requirements
Green, white, yellow, blue. These are just suggestions based on common associations in Western culture: we are open to everything!
algrano refers to “directo al grano” which means “straight to the point” in Spanish. With our project we’re going straight to the point by going directly to the producers to collect information on them and their farms. For consumers, being connected to producers on our platform, we’re also going straight to the point… no social and environmental label or big brand or retailer between them and the producer: they’re in direct contact with the producers. Taken alone, “al grano” translates into “to the grain” (or “to the bean”) which clearly refers to or evokes agriculture. “Al grano” can also specifically refer to coffee as coffee might be seen as the most emblematic kind of grain or bean. This is a great coincidence too, as coffee is the target market with which we’ll be starting our project. We don’t want to be coffee specific though so our logo should not be too much linked to coffee. Coffee can be a great inspiration for you though. The logo can make think of coffee but the link must not be too evident.
