Logo & branding for holiday home rentals in Swiss Alps

the Swiss Fairytale
Travel & Hotel
** Update 14 Feb. 2021 - Please remember we are a tiny company (husband and wife owned and operated). Our goal is to have a logo that looks professional, while still being recognized as a small family owned business. Please don't make generic submissions. We are looking for uniqueness and creativity. It is very difficult to stand out as unique in the rental business, but that is our goal. Think outside the traditional nature of our business / industry :). We offer short-term holiday homes in a small mountain village in the Jungfrau Region of the Swiss Alps. Wengen is a small village and a very popular dual-season resort, drawing people from around the world in summer and winter. Wengen is at an altitude of 1,274 meters above sea level with three world-famous mountains towering above us (Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau). Our two apartment rentals are ski-in and ski-out in the winter or hike-in and hike-out in the summer. Most of our guests are young families or couples with a tendency to be adventurous and enjoy exploring and outdoor sports. In summer, our guests are hikers, mountain bikers, or people that simply enjoy the mountains/nature and the outdoors. In winter, our guests are usually skiers or snowboarders. We are on-site running our little rental business ourselves. We do most of the cleaning and maintenance and focus our efforts on providing a sparkling clean apartment when guests arrive (and most guests comment on this). We set up the rentals as vacation homes rather than hotel rooms. The apartments are stocked with all the kitchen essentials and cooking supplies, games, linens, travel plug adapters, etc. Point is that we try to deliver a top-shelf / boutique holiday home service. We are constantly maintaining, updating, and improving our apartments. Our target audience is NOT seeking the cheapest place to stay or just a bed to crash on. We want to attract an audience that is willing to pay slightly above average prices for a rustic/chic/modern design with highly attentive hosts. While both of our apartments have kitchens many (if not most) of our guests go out for dinners because they can afford to do so. They may not necessarily choose our apartment over a hotel for the kitchen, they often just want the larger space and the autonomy/privacy that comes along with a holiday apartment rental. We strive to make sure every guest feels as though they are visiting THEIR personal holiday home rather than another rental. Our guests appreciate the personal touch we add to their stay.
Our unfinished website is WengenRentals.com. You'll notice we have a logo there but please don't follow that style as we do not like the current logo at all. We also aren't set with the colors used on the website. The colors are just what came as a default with the wordpress template. While the logo, colors and font on the site will be changed before launching, we will leave the overall design/structure as it is. Please note that we are not 100% set on using "the Swiss Fairytale" in the logo. We are very open to other suggestions for a tagline and are also fine with going with a logo without a tagline. We would appreciate your recommendations here. One idea we considered was for Wengen Rentals is somehow in a design that looks like mountain peaks, but that's just an idea. We tend to like flat designs best. Would not prefer the traditional roofline above the logo as you see in many rental logos. We'd like something unique, perhaps slightly fun and modern, yet timeless. It can have a fun or adventurous look, but not cartoon like. The design should look "classy" but not too luxurious as our apartments are not all inclusive resorts. We would very much like a brand and color palette that is memorable and identifiable/representative of Switzerland, mountains, mountain life, the Swiss Alps, and comfort. We don't want a cold/bland look, we would rather have a brand that shows some personality while remaining refined. It would be nice to have some sort of symbol/icon which represents the brand as well. Included attachments are a few examples which we like. Please don't get stuck on following the attached examples--we like them, yes, but we appreciate your creativity and suggestions on what direction we should go. The mountain pictures are just to show our area.
