Chuck Liddell got their new landing page design by running a design contest:
Design an enticing landing page to help us launch our business!

We sell a Software as a Service subscription product to business people that use an enterprise application called Salesforce.com. This product helps them connect Salesforce to other business applications so they can share information between those systems. The product is quite technical and a bit hard to visualize. The key themes we position with are 1) that we are empowering our customers to do something they couldn't normally do without lots of help and 2) that using our tool is going to take a lot of pain out of their day job. (These are both quite true, in fact. People love the tool!) The main purpose of the website is to get the person that experiences all the pain to get on the phone with us and talk it out. The website is all about getting that demo call.
Our product exists in a corporate space, so we can't be too whimsical. Our current site is fairly plain, don't feel like you have to be as conservative as what exists today. If boring is a 0 and silly is a 10, our current website is a 3 and we could go as far as say, a 5 or 6. Imagery-wise, our product is all about making connections, moving things from point A to point B. Illustration and photography that evokes that sense of movement and connection would be helpful. Again, it's tough to make our product visual, so anything that helps is welcome. If you look at our logo, it's inspired from a dandelion and the gist of it is the lines connecting the nodes (dots). Our company color is nominally the shade that you see in our logo. We don't have any secondary company colors. Feel free to be creative.
Elements to include in the landing page
At the same time that we are running this contest for a page redesign, we are updating the copy and some of the elements of the page. You can look at our existing page but understand it is outdated. Below is the correct page structure. We've laid it out as a series of "modules", just blocks of content that flow in order. We're happy to have you experiment a little with the layout and structure of these basic elements. This is copy and a page content design, but you are entirely within your right to design around them. Add images, graphics, space, positioning, etc, where you feel you would like to. (header) Valence logo Start a Trial button Customer Log In button (positioning lines/headline options; one or more of these as the large text at the top of the page) And just like that, your Salesforce integration headaches have gone away. Salesforce Integration for Humans The Missing Link Between Your Data and Salesforce (module 1) Valence. The Salesforce integration tool that does what everyone else claims to do. Salesforce is incredibly powerful—once it's populated with your data. But getting there can be a headache. That's why we created Valence. Built within Salesforce from the ground up, Valence connects to data sources using a familiar, Salesforce-styled interface. With no middleware, there's no additional security, compliance or uptime risk. And it's extensible, so Valence can be customized or transformed without limit. (module 2) A Win for Everyone Business Users—Connect your silos and pull all of your data into the powerful Salesforce platform. Get the multidimensional view you need to deeply engage with your customers and prospects. Data Admins—Push, pull and manage Salesforce data without the help of IT. Easy access and clear visibility allow you to freely explore your data, finding opportunities you may not have anticipated. Developers—Valence is designed to be extensible, so you can write your own code as needed. Plus, with no middleware, we can complete a security review in a phone call, not an endless scrolling checklist. (module 3) Get the Exact Right Fit Valence is Salesforce. Period. It's not watered down to support other platforms, and you won't pay for functionality you don't need. Push and Pull Data with a Click Move data between disparate systems, set updates and check status on a dashboard modeled on the simple Salesforce interface. Use Our Adapters or Write Your Own Connectors for many systems already exist. Don't see yours? We'll create one or step aside so you can write your own code. Link, Map and Go About Your Day Link objects, map fields and use filters to manage which records you move. Valence makes it all surprisingly intuitive. (module 4 / move form up/out of footer and limit to one call to action) Take a Closer Look When data admins and developers see Valence in action, the decision is easy. Why? The Valence Salesforce integration framework actually does what we say it does—faster and more easily than anyone expects. Give it a try. Enjoy a quick remote demo, then play with it in the sandbox. We think you'll like what you see. The font of our company name is Aller, in bold: https://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/Aller We prefer a SKETCH file over PSD. Whatever you provide to us as final files we will need to turn into images, css, and a special Salesforce markup. We can use some raw HTML but anything you can do to align your work with the Lightning Design System framework we linked to (and/or the related component gallery in our other link) will help us a lot. (Don't get too hung up on this request, it's more a nice-to-have than a must-have.) Thanks in advance! We've used 99designs a bunch in the past and have always been delighted with the work we've received.
