How william.drew.johnson started their landing page design journey
Who are you known as?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
we introduce potential shoppers to a variety of interesting content and products related to the ones they are reading and browsing about
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
What do you have in mind for the style and theme of the landing page?
I like simple, on the light, white (and greys) end of the spectrum. This (these) landing pages will feature a variety of colorful images, but the theme of the page should make the products the focus
Elements to include in the landing page
Images of products with title, brand, price, and an abbreviated description (see TheDressSpot execution). I would also like video tiles to look natural interspersed within the page (see asiance example) as well as larger pseudo-sponsored-content units like the GoPro tile in the asiance example above).
A well designed page will make a user want to do mainly two things: scroll and click to find out more about a particular tile. The design should invite a reader to scroll to find more "tiles" (whether articles e.g. Zergnet execution, shoppable products e.g. thedressspot execution, video content e.g. asiance example). The design should also invite a user to click on a tile that interests them. Thus the page should imply interactivity and should tap into the delight / surprise of "discovery" through scrolling below the fold.
