Marketing: This business is expected to appeal to 2 groups:
1. New Orleans expats: These people are familiar with New Orleans food and their primary concern will be quality and authenticity. There are many, many restaurants in the world that claim to have authentic New Orleans cuisine that are terrible at it. The site should communicate that we source our food from a major, local to New Orleans catering company, which currently provides food to a number of well known organizations (to be provided later, so just leave those in brackets for now). Would also say appeal to their nostalgia that they likely cannot find similar quality wherever they've ended up. If they can be sold that it's good food, they'll sign.
2. New Orleans tourists: People who have been to the city, tried the food, and want to experience it at home or who want to visit the city and can try the food via our service without the expense of a plane ticket. Would play up that it's unique and easy to cook.
Product: The product will be 2-serving "boil-in-bag" packets that need to be heated in boiling water and served over rice. No cooking required, total prep time is around 30 minutes. Anticipate marketing this as a subscription service, but will likely try to get the supplier to do one-off sales of gumbo or similarly popular offerings before the site goes live, as a sort of reduced-price sample. Eventually hope to offer a full range of cajun foods. Have tried myself and will vouch, the food is of very high quality, so please keep that in mind as you design the site.
Overall, the goal is to get the name of the site out there, get some initial sign-ups and gauge interest in the product to decide how to move forward. No logo yet (though will likely ask for one in the future depending on performance of landing page) so please use Georgia or another less-common font for that purpose unless you have the ability to prepare something more involved.
