Please read carefully the description below:
To create great online presence for my business we need to assess the following 4 elements:
1. My Business
2. My Personality
3. My Clients
4. My Competition
Here are some observations which are based on surveys and initial market research:
1. My Business & Industry
Since my business is in the field of selling education and training in a form online/offline digital/information products such as eBooks, workbooks, membership - it must create 'wow' factor when it comes to personal branding. The nature of such business is all about delivering information, communication, media, marketing and selling online/offline, therefore it needs to have excellent clear modern innovative high-tech design.
The Colours to be used are: blue - colour of trust, credibility, authority, dark blue/Indigo- colour of wisdom and intuition, red - a colour of action, leadership, attention, silver - colour of media, communication and innovation. P>S Not all colour need to be engaged.
2. My Personality
After surveying some of my clients and prospects, I have concluded that they often associate me with red and dark blue. Red because I often wear this colour and I am somewhat not afraid to ask for attention coming across as a confident individual. It is also because Russia's communist past is somewhat associated with me as I am Russian. Another reasons given were that I initiate change, spread new ideas, very dynamic, revolutionary and action focused. My Russian nature is somewhat being very strict, honest, blunt and upfront. I also want to mention that I am from Siberia, which is Eastern part of Russia, which makes me dreamy, imaginative, mysterious, thoughtful, deep, peaceful.
The reasons given for associating me with dark blue were: that I come across as idealistic, dreamy, very calm, innovative, philosophical. Since my profession is teaching, many said that I am associated with blue because it is a colour of depth, of thought and guidance. The most most common words were that I show new perspective.
3. My Clients
My clients are coaches, trainers, authors, entrepreneurs also known as solo-preneurs as they start their businesses alone operating in various service based industries. First is male who is in his early 30s, engaged in a relationship, extremely independent who is looking for marketing systems as in the stage of starting out and building a consulting business. Second is female in her 50s is not entirely clear what specifically she wants to do, what she needs, who is her target market etc and is looking for guidance in all things marketing. Both are going through a phase of 'starting out, personal growth transformation.
What does that tell you as a designer? They want something simple, clear,
light, modern, refreshing and simple. They need something inspiring and empowering > images of what they want to be, do have are > travel, freedom, empowerment, spirituality, success, wisdom quotes > tropical islands, speaking from stage, being a leader, a lifestyle business doing what they love, earning 6 to 7 figure income, having impact through their business by helping others and leaving a legacy. They are all some what spiritual, idealistic and ambitious. Hence, we should employ these themes in designs.
2. My Competition
My most favourite website examples that are related to my targeted audience are:
http://www.benangel.com.au > marketing training
http://www.bookyourselfsolid.com > marketing training
http://davidjehlen.com > marketing training
Other I like,
http://www.pitchanything.com > sales > simple, clear, revolutionary, modern > red theme employed
http://markmanson.com > general > nice design
We should focus more on using marketing websites to create mine and obviously it must stand out and it must speak to their aspirations described earlier.
I want to use the following combination of colours:
- White background for content
- Light Blue background
- Dark Blue or Indigo for Framing
- Red Headlines
- Black Text
