Story to tell in the infographic
Our company has a one of a kind track record when it comes to managing retirement plans. We have compiled data from Morningstar that shows the performance of mutual funds during the bear market from 2000-2002 and 2008 and overall performance since 1999. We are the only manager/advisor that has made money during both bear markets(periods in which the U.S. Stock market lost over 35% in value) and has beaten the market in terms of performance over 15 years. We need a graphic for our home page and marketing materials. Our goal is to show we are very different from our peers when readers hit our web page( one of a kind). Landscape design would fit be for webpage graphic. We are not a mutual fund, but comparing our performance to a mutual is the best way to illustrate the benefit and uniqueness of our strategy.
Data to include in the infographic
U.S. stock market lost a total of -46.65% from 2000-2002.
Out of 8,188 equity or international mutual funds tracked by Morningstar only 1.6% or 132 were profitable. ( our strategy was profitable during this period).
For the bear market of 2008, the US stock market lost -38.49% and this year Morningstar tracked 11,182 fund and only 1 fund was profitable for the year. Our strategy was profitable for the year.
However, our strategy is the only one that has kept up or beat the market in terms of returns. We want readers to get that we are one in over 11,000 fund in terms of performance.
Elements to include in the infographic
We are open to any design that is easy to read and easy to understand even if readers are not educated on investing or the stock market.
We may want to include the amount of return other funds had to make to get back to even after losing money during a losing or bear market. I have attached a powerpoint file with those numbers. It may be too much information for one slide, however it would be great if this were also included in the graphic. We did not lose money during the bad markets so we did not have to generate a large return to get back to even.
