Story to tell in the infographic
The target demographic is our employees, and the intent of the infographic is to share the findings from our recently concluded employee survey on organisational practices pertaining to "people development" and "teamwork".
Data to include in the infographic
The People Development Survey was carried out over a two-week period from 7 to 21 December 2020. It affords our entities an idea of where they are with regard to People Development practice and behaviour, as well as how A*STAR is faring as a whole. The survey comprised 15 questions (10 on People Development, 5 on Teamwork) to be answered on a 5-point scale: • Strongly Disagree (1) • Disagree (2) • Neutral (3) • Agree (4) • Strongly Agree (5) Response rate A*STAR achieved an overall response rate of 81%, with over 4,300 staff responding to this survey to provide their feedback. Perceptions about A*STAR 62% agree: A*STAR takes People Development seriously 62% agree: A*STAR recognises and rewards Collaboration Perceptions about my Division/Research Entity 58% agree: My Division/Research Entity emphasises People Development 74% agree: My Division/Research Entity emphasises Collaboration Most prevalent People Development practices by Reporting Officers (ROs) 75% agree: My RO does a good job in setting work objectives 74% agree: My RO engages me on my individual development plan at least once per year Least prevalent People Development practices by Reporting Officers (ROs) 56% agree: My RO recommends courses/ programmes/ conferences etc. for my personal and professional development 63% agree: My RO takes an active interest in preparing me for new challenges and greater responsibilities in A*STAR Follow-up These survey findings have been shared with all Heads of Department (HODs), RI EDs and colleagues holding equivalent leadership positions. Many of whom have already begun engaging staff at various levels to better understand the sentiments which have led to these survey findings. This is a necessary precursor to identifying and undertaking actions to further strengthen People Development and Teamwork practices in each entity within A*STAR.
