Story to tell in the infographic
We’d like to provide a clear, useful and engaging infographic for internal use that helps us to express our organisational values, and what these look like in action, through the behaviors of our staff. Background information on the story we are trying to tell: We have undergone a process of developing a set of values that best represents where we are as an organisation, and where we’d like to be. This has been a collaborative process with staff, as opposed to something that has been handed down to them. Although many of our staff members have been involved in several conversations and workshops to develop these values, top of mind recognition/ comprehension of our values is not high, and it’s an area that we’d like to nurture and foster through our internal communications. This infographic is for internal use only. It is not an external/customer facing initiative, and it will not be included on our website or in our marketing materials.
Data to include in the infographic
Primary Heading: Our Values Need an icon and heading for each of our five values, which are • Start and end with why • Deliver customer impact, not transactions • Bring yourself to work • Collaborate with heart • Evolve These values aren't numbered and we don’t want them to be (they are of equal importance). We’d also like to be able to display them as a collective, but also as separate elements when addressing a specific topic. For example, we may make reference to a specific value in the course of our business, a project, or in HR materials (these are just some of many possible examples). It would be good for these icons to be able to be used on their own. For each value, we would then like to display our ‘values in action’, where we list five examples of behaviors that will display these values. Again, these items are not numbered and are of equal importance. Information is as follows: Start and end with why • Keep a close focus on the purpose, and the end result • Ask questions • Seek to understand • Be aware of the bigger picture, and be brave enough to influence it • Give yourself licence to think outside the square Deliver customer impact, not transactions • Help people • Delight someone every day • Create the moments that lead to the stories • Make decisions that support a good end result, over and above making rules • Do what you say you will Bring yourself to work • Find ways to showcase the best parts of who you are • Find the things in your work that energise you • Make your actions consistent with your own values and those we hold close as an organisation • Take accountability • Be proactive Collaborate with heart • Seek to make a difference • Have truthful interactions and seek meaningful connections • Take time to contribute to a shared vision • Treat everyone that you engage with as a precious commodity • Take time to give positive feedback Evolve • Promote change for the better • Extend yourself beyond the familiar • Learn from your mistakes • Be responsive to changing needs • Find opportunities to keep learning and to teach others
Elements to include in the infographic
Heading: Our Values We need an icon and heading for each of our five values please. As listed in the 'data to include section', we would like to display our ‘values in action’, for each of our five values, where we list five examples of behaviors that will display these values.
We require a single page/single sided view. At this stage we have a slight preference for a portrait configuration, but we are not fixed to this and are happy to see suggestions based on sound reasoning. The infographic is likely to be displayed on sizes of A3, A2 and in some cases A1. We need all infographic elements and supporting text legible when displayed at an A3 size. As we are approaching a company rebrand, we are in the unique position of not being locked into any fixed/existing brand book parameters. We would like to create a ‘stand-alone’ identity for our values. Therefore, we do not prescribe fonts or colours for this design job. Words that spring to mind for our ideal design are - Contemporary - Fresh - Friendly and cheery

TMark was great.
A general remark about this process, it would be helpful if 99Design would allow clients to speak with the designers over the phone to allow for more in depth discussion of the design requirements and overall process.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
