80s Retro design for a deck of playing cards

Entertainment & The Arts
Playing cards design and production. The audience is cаrdists, collectors and magicians.
What's your vision?
The goal of this project is to design a retro 80s themed deck of playing cards. For the reference of successful playing card designs see https://bit.ly/2Wq0BPA Draft name: Plaу Dесk (may be changed if you create an awesome design with a different concept). Main illustration work should be done for the back design. It should be symmetrical (in a way where you turn the card upside down and see the same/mirrored image, like in many decks here https://bit.ly/2Wq0BPA) and MAY be based around the moodboard suggested in the attachments. Since we can only ask for back design in this campaign, we'd like to work with a winner 1v1 for a custom design of the faces of court cards and Aces, based on the existing basic design provided in attachments - filename "Face Design"). Let's go over that moodboard (arranged in no particular order). 1. That's DrDisrespect, a streamer well-know for his visuals and retro styled animations. You can check his youtube channel (banned from twitch at this point) for some inspiration. Video editing and visual animation effects are important part of this project since this deck will be used for cаrdistry - which basically makes cards come to life. That's why the deck should be looking good in motion. Example of what cаrdistry is: https://bit.ly/2WAETIH Another example of how a small detail on paper (in this case a rainbow-ish smudge) can amplify the visuals in motion: https://bit.ly/32yRUqe 2. That's the logo of the New Retro Wave youtube channel - https://bit.ly/32DqGPf, a source for synthwave inspiration if you're an audiophile. Their logo design looks neat as well. A classic retro-styled text effect which MAY or MAY NOT not be used in our design (based on your idea or our draft name - Plaу Dесk). 3. That's our logo. Provided in attachments as well (filename "Logo"). It's not necessary to incorporate that into the design at all. But if your design will work well with our logo (feel free to change its colours), go for it. We don't want the logo to be screaming about itself on the back design though, hide it, incorporate into your illustration, do it subtly (should you decide to use after all). 4. Another example of retro text effect for inspiration and overall mood of the deck. 5. The classic retro fading sun that is WAY OVERUSED in retro effects. Not necessary to use that at all, but you can go around that smartly, like we did with our stickers: https://bit.ly/3jbn0tC 6. A background that may or may not inspire you to create the canvas for the back design of the deck. - Please create your illustrations for the back design using the attached "Back Design" file. The layer coloured with black is just for reference, indicating the safe space where your design should be placed. Mind the white borders on the back of the card. For the modified faces, use file "Face Design" (featuring default faces from a classic Bicycle deck) and do whatever you feel that is fitting the spirit of your back design. It's crucial that we like the back design first, so if you have doubts over your custom face illustrations, submit your back design illustration first, and when we select a winner we'll work on faces with the winner in a separate project. It's important to not go overboard with the face design and make it recognizable enough for laymen (looking unique, but not very detached from the classics). And before you start, please be aware of a similar retro deck that exists already, created by our good friends. It is important that your final work won't end up looking like this: https://bit.ly/2BaXXFW Thank you for your time and good luck!
We may select only one winner, but depending on your work and understanding how playing cards should be designed, may reach out to other contestants to work on future projects.
