ZOOMtoLearn (Z2L), http://www.zoomtolearn.com, is a startup company that is focused on changing the learning paradigm by providing products that will show the “big picture” and allow users to zoom in to obtain more and more details. Z2L can replace traditional textbooks and reference guides, with online application using the zoom capability to allow users to quickly and easily access detail knowledge while easily being able to return to see the “big picture”. Our initial product, ZOOMto Project Management (Z2PM), will transform the PMBOK® Guide, the ANSI standard for project managers ,into the Z2L approach. What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
The Z2PM product is based on 8 levels. Each level provides the next level of detail of the PMBOK® Guide knowledge. The objective of Z2PM to simplify the PMBOK® Guide and make the information easy to read and find. Our main objective is to ensure our diagrams are clean and easy to read.
We will be looking the effective use of colour to make the diagrams to be simple and fun. There are 47 processes in 10 knowledge areas. Each knowledge area should different colours and colours will not change in each level. Each process belongs to one of 10 knowledge areas. We would like to have a different colour for each knowledge area so that a process will be in the colour of its knowledge area, e.g. One of the 10 colours. For example, if scope management is blue then all the processes belong to scope management should be in blue, and their outputs (arrows outgoing from them)...
