Poster for "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" Rock Musical

A local community theater on Bainbridge Island, Washington. We envision an inclusive and connected community in which we spark joy and change lives by creating a “brave space” for the pursuit of equitable, creative, and educational experiences.

We need a poster for our upcoming performance of "Hedwig and the Angry Inch." This is a rock musical with a grungy feel and we hope the poster to reflect the same. "An adult, one-of-a-kind, outrageous, and unexpectedly hilarious rock experience about the quest for individuality, Hedwig is an inspiration for anyone who has felt life gave them an inch when they deserved a mile." We're hoping for a grungy punk rock, but glamorous poster and Hedwigs affinity for pink and bright-colored makeup might add color to the poster. Other concepts might include rock instruments, candy, microphone, and although we have not yet cast the actor to play Hedwig, an abstract image of the main character and her fantastic hairstyle would be great content for the poster. Description of Hedwig: East German rock singer and front woman of The Angry Inch. Formerly Hansel, a slip of a girly boy who grew up in communist East Berlin, fell in love with an American GI; became Hedwig and underwent a botched sex change operation in order to marry and move to the states; glamorous, charismatic and always commanding even when at her most vulnerable; has had high highs and low lows.

Once the final design is chosen, we'll need a file that works in layers so we have some flexibility to rearrange them for various aspect ratios, such as square, vertical, banners, etc, but we hope to brand the show with the main elements of the image. I'll try to provide more guidance as we go, but we love seeing the creativity of designers.
