vaidaC got their new illustration or graphics by running a design contest:
Illustrate a mission patch for a satellite mission!
Check out vaidaC's Illustration or graphics contest…
NanoAvionics designs and manufactures nano-satellites (a shoebox-size fully functioning satellites) and their components, we also help our Customers to launch their satellites to low-earth-orbit. We represent a "NewSpace" ideology, where space technology is produced faster and cheaper and various innovative business models emerge from accessibility to satellites.
What's your vision?
We are launching a nano-satellite in 2019 and would like to have a MISSION PATCH dedicated to this event. Please research the mission patch visual tradition before starting to draw - just google "satellite mission patch" to see many examples. The satellite will carry two instruments from our clients who will demonstrate / validate them in the space environment - so we provide those companies with a vehicle (satellite) and the launch and this way they can send their technology to space more effectively. One of the clients will test Internet of Things communications technology, another will test their propulsion system. The name of the satellite is "R-2" - is is an abbreviation for Rideshare-2 (but also has a slight reference to Star wars :) ) We would like the mission patch to be illustrative and round shape (will have it embroidered among other applications such as print stickers and etc). We prefer vintage illustration style or something futuristic looking, clean design. Textual info which should appear on the mission patch: NanoAvionics (if you use the full logo, no need to repeat the company name) 2019 R-2 As for the visual part, we would like you to get creative here. As mission patch in itself is a bit geeky thing, you are welcome to interpret the task by adding a bit of humor in the mission patch, the most important thing is that the shape of the satellite is not too distorted (if you decide to show it in the illustration). Also, please try to convey the meaning of the mission via your illustration. Attached, you can find images of the satellite (different angles) and the logotype. You can use just the symbol of the logotype, but then please include NanoAvionics in the text. If you have any questions - please ask!! All our company will be participating in selecting the winners, these competitions are a great pleasure for us all.
As this is a technically challenging task, I would like to clarify the nature of this satellite mission - you can think of a satellite as of a vehicle - a "car" having some space for riders - so this is the purpose of this mission - to ride two instruments around the Earth (so that our clients can test them).
