Wildcard 24 got their new illustration or graphics by running a design contest:
Illustrate a Character with his Powerful and Futuristic Device
Check out Wildcard 24's Illustration or graphics contest…
For 25 years, self-help conferences and workshops have been given by the organization. At the core of the practice is a system called, The Device (new branding). The Device helps people align themselves with their true essence, reactivate their inner power and rise their vital energy.
What's your vision?
Conferences about The Device are at the crossroads of Self-Help and Entertainment. Therefore, to bring it alive and make it engaging, we created a story. Here it goes: A character as been sent on Earth to help people. He's carrying with him (in his hand) a futuristic circular device (see image). The Device is mind-activated and can be used to raise vital energy (still, keep in mind that adults are attending conferences and workshops, not kids). The story is a metaphor and at the end of the day, The Device is a system to help explain how to increase vital energy in our daily lives. Now, we need to illustrate that story with one image. It need to show "The Character with The Device in his hand" -that's it! Not too funny, not too serious, classy, modern, futuristic, powerful, cool, inspiring. At first, the illustration will be used for different purposes: Background during a conference, website homepage, cover sheet of the workshop documentation , etc. Soon, we will use the same approach to illustrate different aspects of the system called: The Device (so, much more to come). Also, depending on the quality of the art that will be submitted, we might decide to choose more than one. Finally, we are looking (in a near future) to publish an illustrated book featuring the adventures of the character with his device! The question is, who will be up to the task? Who can clearly illustrate the power of The Device in one single image? Attached, you will find 2 files: 1. A picture of the system we now call, The Device (a circular chart with 5 key elements -of course, the illustration should NOT include the text. 2. A few pictures of Normand Deslandes, the REAL inventor of The Device. We figure that the character with the device SHOULD look SOMEHOW like him -at least with very similar features. One last thing, the illustration should "fill the space" (not only the character and his device, but also some kind of background). We really hope that you will enjoy this task and we can't wait to see the result! Cheers and peace to everybody!
