My music ROCKS the world!
What's your vision?
I am wanting my album artwork designed to be used in the manufacturing of my upcoming debut CD. I already have my main logo design that I am wanting to revamp. I will also need additional small accenting artwork done and fonts and layout work done. There are 5 basic parts to the album artwork: The Front Cover The Inside Card The CD Behind the CD The Back Cover I am using my main logo on the front cover and also for the CD. The other areas have more room for artistic creativity. For the artwork to work with the manufacture it has to meet some guidelines, these are the guidelines I pulled from their website: I. Thou shalt use our templates and our templates only. Never attempt to use the templates of other duplication companies because every duplication company has different sets of templates. Make sure you select the correct Unified template for your project to avoid issues and additional fees. II. Thou shalt only submit images with 300 dpi. So your images look good but that’s because your monitor is usually around 72 dpi. We need a higher resolution in order to print nicely. We require 300dots per inch (DPI) for all images. III. Thou shalt use CMYK. A computer monitor displays color using RGB mode whereas physical print is either CMYK or pantone color. All RGB, Lab and ICC-based colors must be converted to CMYK for accuracy. IV. Thou shalt put bleed and safety margins. Our plant trims sheets in stacks. Bleed and safety margins will give our printers a margin of error when trimming the sheets. For bleed, make sure to add 1/8 inch extensions on all sides of the template. For safety margins, make sure NO essential element is placed 1/8? inside the crop marks. V. Thou shalt design CD label using pantone colors. Printing on paper is very different from printing on discs. For discs, it is advisable to do silkscreen printing using Pantone Solid Coated inks. VI. Thou shalt not steal artwork. For replication orders, we require you to fill out our Intellectual Property Rights form. If some or all of the material is not owned by you, you need to supply us with a proof of licensing or permission. VII. Thou shalt use vector- based programs for text. Use vector-based software for your text or logo so there’s no chance it would pixelate. Vector files are also much more versatile to work with. Photoshop is a raster-based program which makes the edges of some text less defined. VIII. Thou shall avoid gradients for on-disc design. On-disc printing is printed using silkscreen so we can’t have that ombre/gradient effect. IX. Thou shalt submit all the elements used. We need all of the elements used in your design, not just the layout files. Every image linked into your page layout must be sent to us. If you are linking an EPS file from Illustrator, into your page layout, make sure to collect all the images and fonts from the EPS file. X. Thou shalt save your files the Unified way. Create one main folder that contains 3 separate folders. Inside the main folder, name the 3 folders: Page Layout, Links, and Fonts. Place all the files in their corresponding folders. Please name the main folder this way: “Artwork”-Project name-date, Ex: Artwork-CarlosMencia-030512. XI. Thou shalt submit files that match your original quote. If not, your project will be put on hold until we have the proper talk and agreement of your updated order. I know it seems like a bit of details, but I think many are pretty basic. I am going through 99 designs because I know a professional can handle the work. Now onto the vision of the Artwork. Young Will Stone themes are Eagles, Motorcycles, Beards, Bandanas, American Flag, Mountains, Rising Sun Aura and over the top manliness. These are the main elements you can see in the picture. I guess I'm looking for an artistic update on the logo adding style and making sure it meets guidelines and to include these elements to bring the whole CD package together. Maybe adding a guitar strapped on the back of me the rider would be cool? Just an idea. The front cover will be the main logo. I think I would like the text "Young Will Stone" to be on the top of the image rather than on the bottom where it is now. The CD will be same logo. I am only using the circle logo for the round CD. I would like to add "Young Will Stone" text somewhere in the graphic for the CD. It's a layout issue, the front will be square and the CD round of course. I would also like text around the outside of the CD saying "©℗ 2015 Young Will Stone. All Rights Reserved." For the Back Cover the Track listing is as follows: 1. Sunshine 2. Flow & Grow 3. 680 4. Goodbye 5. 24 Karat 6. Someplace to Grow 7. Knotty Dreadlocks Also wanting Red Oak Creek Studio Logo on the back. I would like the text ""©℗ 2015 Young Will Stone. All Rights Reserved. Unauthorized duplication is a violation of applicable laws." Added on the back as well. The Inside Card is where more of your artistic finesse can be added. I want the following text centered on the Inside Card, but the background is up to you. Maybe some eagles wings stretching out or some burn out marks or something in the background accenting graphics. This is the text on the inside that is to be centered: "Young Will Stone would like to first and foremost thank the Lord Jesus Christ who is the Rock eternal. Young Will Stone would like to thank his parents for all their love and support over the years. Young Will Stone would also like to thank: My family, my close friends who have stuck through thick and thin, Bill Robinson & Red Oak Creek Studio, Brooke Gibson for making the YWS guitar, my supporters & fans, all the people who joined in jamming on the street and on the road over the years and all the awesome kickstarter peeps who helped make this album happen! "680" is dedicated to all who have tragically lost their life or been affected by the horrors of drug use. $1 is donated to drug awareness and prevention programs every time this album or song sells. Special Thanks: Pops aka Bill Baker All lyrics and music written and created by Young Will Stone except: Bill Robinson - Bass - 680 Dave Shenefelt - Drums - 680 Katie Adams - Lyrics, Background Vocals - 680 Wilbért D'Condéz Skalóna - Saxophone - Someplace to Grow Ran Algov - Trumpet - Knotty Dreadlocks DJ Plavakuca - DJ - Goodbye All songs recorded at 432Hz for your experiential pleasure. Recorded & Mixed by Will Baker at Red Oak Creek Studio in Ripley, OH Mastered by Joel Evenden Album Artwork: YOURNAME www.youngwillstone.com firstname.lastname@example.org Original music written and performed by Young Will Stone, Copyright ©2015. All Rights Reserved." I would like to add the Red Oak Creek Studio logo on the inside card as well if it will fit neatly somewhere. Behind the CD is totally up to you, just fit the theme. Also note that being a clear jewel case the left side of the behind CD will be seen from the front. So some kind of design should be there that will go with the front cover as that is what it will be seen with. The spine should say YOUNG WILL STONE. Please feel free to add you own flavor and ideas to any part of the CD. Similar artists to myself include AudioSlave, Foo Fighters, No Doubt, Steppenwolf, Kansas, Collective Soul, Lenny Kravitz, Living Colour. That's the gist of the project. The CD manufacture that I am ordering from is https://www.unifiedmanufacturing.com. You can view the templates under 2 page Jewel Case. I will also attach the templates below as well as Red Oak Creek Logo. If you need any more info feel free to email me: email@example.com. If I like your design I will provide feedback 2-3 times. If I eliminate your design, try a new design concept. Thanks in advance and I look forward to awarding you the cash prize! ROCK On!
