Publisher - all that matters for this contest is that you can do photo-realistic full color art.
What's your vision?
Thank you for your participation in this illustration contest. Please note -- the ‘style’ I’m looking for in this piece is full color photo realistic. This will be cover artwork for a book that measures 6 inches in width x 9 inches in height. Because the top third of the cover will be the title (which you WON’T be responsible for), that means the artwork itself will end up measuring around 6 inches by 6 inches. With that in mind, you know best, but that probably means that the artwork itself will need to be at least 3000 pixels x 3000 pixels. OR if you want to leave the top 3rd of the image blank for me and my team to later put in the title, the final image will be 3000 pixels wide x 4500 pixels high. I've included a few examples I found online of the style and level of photo-realism I'm looking for (AND I added important notes to each so you could have even more specifics). I’ve also included 2 rough sketches of what I’m looking for, but it’s obvious why I need your help, as I clearly haven’t provided proper perspective with my drawing. With that said, here are many additional details to guide you and put you in a better position to deliver what I’m hoping to achieve and win the contest. Speaking of sketches, I assume your initial drafts won’t necessarily include color just yet, but again, I want you go have everything you need right away: The mood of the piece is ominous. Era of the piece: late 1970s. Time of day of the piece: daylight hours. Location of the piece: inside a 1978 Cadillac Limousine. Limousine Paint Color (not sure how this might affect car’s internal colors – seats, steering wheel, dashboard, etc. -- but wanted to give you this extra level of detail): metallic blue People in the limo: A chauffeur in the front, and a couple in the back. The chauffeur is a male caucasian in his early twenties with dark blonde hair. He’s physically fit and dressed in an indigo blue uniform. Also, for however much of his face can be seen in the rearview mirror, it’s clear that he’s handsome. He is of Scandinavian origin if it helps with your notes on putting together facial features. The couple in the back, one male and one female, are both caucasian. Their age can be either in their thirties, forties, or fifties – whatever you determine is best. Again, I’ve attached two versions of a really rough sketch to indicate the desired angle of the piece, along with what specifically is going on inside the car. As you’ll see by the rough sketch, the chauffeur is adjusting the rearview mirror with his right hand. You can see the back of his head in the piece, but inside the rearview mirror itself, you can see enough of his face to notice by the expression in his eyes that his attention is very much focused on the couple behind him. You also can see them in the rearview mirror as well, whispering to one another, looking like they don’t want the chauffeur to hear what they’re saying. Again, I’m hoping for something that’s photo realistic, but that also really captures the eye. Thank you in advance for your wonderful work. Best of luck. UPDATE 1: I know this is quite a detailed brief, so please feel free to submit a more rough draft initially if that works better for you, and I expect it’ll pick up a little more later on when I fine tune the best design during the final round. UPDATE 2: Per a few requests, I have made the contest ‘Blind’.
I know this is quite a detailed brief, so please feel free to submit a more rough draft initially if that works better for you, and I expect it’ll pick up a little more later on when I fine tune the best design during the final round. Please take advantage of the attached rough sketches, the examples I found online of style and tone (AND the specific notes I added to them) and the heavy brief details. To be clear, I'm going for an ominous tone in terms of the expressions on the characters' faces, but I'm NOT looking for a dark color palette since the scene occurs in the daytime. Thank you again.

It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their illustration or graphics.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
andrewkap2000 collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Bonographic provided work that was within the brief and was happy to do any requested changes. His responses and new suggestions came rapidly and I would be happy to use work with him in the future.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
