This contest is to create a quirky illustration for a student website (typical age 21-28); using an appropriate style and colour pallet. You will also determine a subject matter for the illustration that best depicts the requirements below.
The objective of the illustrations is to make the website feel less corporate and more inviting, but not to be childish.
The winning illustrator will also be offered a larger project to create 7 more illustrations with 16 simpler/smaller illustrations. This would be done in a one-to-one project.
The illustration should fit approximately within a square area, but with a white background rather than solid or pictorial background. As a very rough guide to the size of the image on the website; 800x800px, although once in use they will obviously vary depending on device and screen size.
I've attached a document giving you a steer on the various possible directions of illustrative style, but we're looking to create a style that is "ours". You do not have to stick with people - you can use or create alternative creatures. (again, we want to avoid a "childish" look)
We would like the following two colours to feature in the illustrations (or variations of), plus additional colours that you feel work with these. There are ideas in the attached document, but don't feel restricted to these.
The image is to accompany some editorial on "How to study in <any country>" (it will sit to the right of it)
The winning illustrations should be delivered as scaleable vector files and raw files.
