This is a children's book targeting ages 6-12. It's an energetic, upbeat story,
What's your vision?
I am looking for two drawings for a children's book: 1) is a drawing of Jack Fishstew, the lead character of a children's book called "The Adventures of Jack Fishstew." Jack is a magical mer-boy who lives off the coast of Australia and is both brave and mischievous. He is always learning and good of heart but sometimes gets into trouble. Jack is described as: "He was crown prince of the mer-‐world, half wild and half tame A magic, blue-‐tailed, half-‐fish boy and the ocean knew his name." I envision Jack as a cross between Calvin (of Calvin and Hobbes) and Dash Incredible (from The Incredibles). Spirited, imaginative, fun loving and pushing the limits. 2) is a scene drawing of an important moment in the book when Jack encounters a wallaby who has set to sea in a little yellow boat. "One day north of Sydney, not far from Wyrrabalong Jack saw something very strange, something that just seemed wrong. A Flash of color caught Jack's eye, the strangest thing afloat. A wallaby floating out to sea in a tiny yellow boat." Jack swims up to the boat and meets Whip the wallaby which begins the story. Whip is sad and escaping from bullies when he first encounters Jack. Jack is always positive. I would like a drawing of the scene where Jack sees Whip in his boat. It can be from a distance or as Jack comes alongside the boat and introduces himself to Whip.
This is meant to be a fun to read and graphically catchy. Design aesthetic should be modern and colorful. Most of the adventure takes place in the ocean surrounded by colorful characters of all shapes and sizes. The design should allow for detail in these characters.
