CAPCA is a non-profit association that represents licensed Pest Control Advisers in the agricultural industry in the state of California.
What's your vision?
We want a simple, easily recognizable, distinctive “verification mark.” We would like the mark to have some kind of “validation” symbol, like a check mark (although not required to be a check mark). Visually, when scanning a document or webpage, this mark should be quick and easy to see (for example – when a business is accredited through the Better Business Bureau, they have a distinct mark on their website to quickly signify that accreditation). Our mark will signify that organizations who use it are committed to reporting CE (continuing education) hours to CECPM (the organization that tracks hours once they are reported). Language should be simple. “CE Hours Reported" is what we're leaning toward, but not required if you think of something better. Language should easily educate the reader on what the mark signifies (the promise of reporting CE hours). Please DO NOT use our name (e.g. CAPCA) on the mark, as we won't be the only company using it. We are open to your ideas about color. The mark doesn’t need to be “agricultural colors” or textures. Please keep in mind that colors should translate well when used on websites that typically have agricultural colors (predominantly primary colors with a lot of green). If the mark is in multi-color, it should also be a design that is friendly to monochromatic format. Specifically, we'd like to see it in grayscale/black on a white background. We've attached images of the types of websites where this mark might be used. We'd love to see the mark inserted onto one of these pages to view it in situ. Thank you!
Here is some additional information and background that may help you. We are a non-profit who represents members of the agricultural industry. Our members are required by law to attend a certain number of CE (Continuing Education) courses, in order to maintain their professional license with the State. These hours are reported to a third party (CECPM) who tracks all of the member’s reported hours in an annual printout, which is not required by law but easy for member record keeping. Many of our members have complained that there isn’t an easy way for them to verify that organizations who are offering CE courses will report their attendance to CECPM so that their attendance hours will be reflected on the annual printout. We would like this mark, and an agreement with anyone who uses it, to be a voluntary verification system that CE hours will be reported. This mark will help licensees to verify this agreement before they sign up for a course, which will provide peace of mind when they purchase the course.
