What's your vision?
I’m looking for ideas for a feature image on my website (to be used above the fold). I'm trying to create an image so that people can visualise the primary product/system we are offering (Termite protection (chemical) applied to the soil around the house). The images attached show the area where we would generally install the termite protection around the house which is the primary product we offer. It is a soil treatment which is injected into the soil and beneath the concrete around the home, to create a barrier protection to prevent termites getting into the house. These are subterranean termites which travel under the ground. I'd like to avoid just having termites which might not be as nice to look at or appear scary or gross to some people. Our idea is to come up with an image of an well presented australian brick home, and overlay a visualisation to show that the house has protection and what that protection zone looks like. Potentially we could blend the blue sky into our brand colours. Introducing termites behind a coloured filter (as per my brand guidelines) might be worth considering but the primary objective of this project is to help the customer visualise the protection we offer. It may be that the best way to achieve this is by using words such as ‘Termite Protection’ in front of the image just to hit home in 2 seconds that we protect homes from termites. I will have a design team building the website however I thought I'd come here first to hopefully get some creative ideas for us to implement for this objective. Primary objective: when people come to my site they are typically looking to purchase termite protection in which case this image would let them know instantly that they've come to the right place. Alternatively, they come to my site knowing very little about termites, and this image introduces them to the idea of how we will implement protection around their home and what that might look like. The system we offer is the their best option to protect against termites so I'd like to get them introduced to the concept at first visit to my site so that when they call, they are already thinking 'This is what I need for my home'. Secondary objective. This will be the first image clients see when they see my business so it needs to be visually appealing and the surrounding colours will need to incorporate or blend into my brand colours as we incorporate these colours through the site. This video shows some examples of where the treatment is installed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJIFgP3vyKY I've also attached a few treatment photos to make it more clear including the drill holes in the concrete which we use to inject the chemical under the path. I'll also attach a couple of mockups which is all I could come up with. Perhaps you can come up with a different concept to achieve the same goal. I will attach our initial website wireframe to as a guide for the set out of the web page and the area I'm mainly focused on. We are in early stages of the design phase so you can be flexible with the layout or the size of the image. I have also included some examples where other companies have tried to do something similar. I'd prefer to avoid an image which is too 'Cartoony' as it will be the feature image to our website. Company colour codes are listed in the design guidelines but the following colour codes might be considered to represent the protection zone. #1E7DAB #22A0B8 (Pacific Blue) #042E55 or some of the other Blues might work also. Orange Soda #Ec5534 could also work as the site will be primarily made up of Blues from the brand guidelines with the Orange only used for Call to actions and features.. therefore it will definitely stand out. I just had a slight concern that it might give the impression of product being "Toxic" and "unsafe".
