Food & Drink
MY PRODUCT My product is a podcast. It features interviews with artisan food and drink producers and industry experts. The podcast will focus on tips and techniques for running a better business with the aim of increasing sales. My guests will discuss their successes and challenges as well as their aspirations for their business. PROFILE OF MY TARGET AUDIENCE My target audience is artisan (gourmet) food and drink business owners. They care about the provenance of food and drink, where ingredients come from and how food and drink products are made. They value hand-made over highly processed ‘factory food’. Many are solopreneurs who like the thrill of running their own business and being their own boss. They are trying to get more sales. They are active on social media, especially Facebook and Twitter.
What's your vision?
ITEM I need podcast cover art for my podcast, The Artisan Food & Drink Business Show. I will use the artwork to list my podcast in various podcast libraries and apps, e.g., iTunes. FORMAT The image should be: Square Optimized for 150 x 150 px. Sharp and readable in a range of sizes from 2048 x 2048 px full scale and down to as small as 150 x 150 px. This is because the artwork will be viewed on a range of devices including iPhones, iPads, iPods, laptops and regular computer screens. REQUIREMENTS SPECIFIED BY iTUNES iTunes has the following specific requirement for the artwork: The final file must be a minimum of 1400 x1400 px to 2048 x 2048 px at 72 DPI or more, JPG. The image should be optimized for 150 x 150 px. The colour space is RGB only. Not CMYK, 8-bit indexed or transparent. The artwork cannot contain pixelation, artifacts, high-contrast background art, or blurry or hard crops (unless stylistic). DELIVERY ITEMS A JPG file for iTunes. All source files including the original editable file for any future use. A high-resolution print file at 300 dpi. A file that enables me to use the artwork on social media. A file with the artwork in a vector/scalable format. OBJECTIVES OF THE ARTWORK To get noticed, to ‘pop’, to spark interest and make my audience want to start listening to the podcast. To communicate in an instant what my show is about.
DESIGN IDEAS Communicate an atmosphere of ‘fun’, ‘aspiration’, ‘cool’ and ‘handmade’ even ‘quirky’. I like the colours orange and lime green. Orange is used in many countries to represent food. Lime green says ‘fresh’ and ‘zesty’. The name of the podcast (The Artisan Food & Drink Business Show) should be in the artwork. If space allows, include a graphic that represents the show and answers the questions: what is this show about, will it help me? Have the text as big as possible so that it is legible on a small screen. The three most important words are: ‘Artisan’, ‘Food’ and ‘Drink’. Please avoid visual clichés, like headphones or microphones. I've included examples of artwork I like below.
