I am looking for cover art for my first novel, Daughter of the Mara. My novel is a young adult fantasy novel which focuses on the world of nightmares. Is she mad or is it all a horrible nightmare she can’t wake up from? Jayashree Atkinson has been told her whole life that she’s crazy: after all most people don’t dream while they’re awake. Sent to a psychiatric hospital at the age of thirteen for a crime she doesn’t remember committing, Jay thought she would spend her entire life locked away from the world, broken and alone. That is until one day a mysterious young man appears telling her that he can help, that she is not crazy at all, that she is the living embodiment of a nightmare: a mara. Freed from her captivity Jay attempts to return to a normal life and understand who (or what) she really is. Torn between the world of humans and the realm of nightmares Jay must work to control her power and achieve her destiny before forces darker than her own nightmares lock her away for good. Daughter of the Mara is the first book in a planned trilogy which follows Jay’s journey as she learns to how to control her waking nightmares, find her place among a people she’s never known, and face a destiny she never imagined.
