A Children's Book Cover about a Mischievous Dragon
Check out btullos's Illustration or graphics contest…
I need an awesome BOOK COVER I am creating a children's book (WITH A DRAGON) that is a satirical story. The book is designed to make a fun engaging story while teaching an important lesson. The dragon on the cover tricks all the townspeople into believing it was the migrant workers, and not him that at all their food. I hope my story can expose how easy it is to come to misconceptions about another person, raise awareness about child imprisonment at the border, and create a public dialogue to find positive solutions. So, I need a great book cover to make this story come to life! This cover should be able to catch the eye of parents scrolling Facebook and make them excited and ready to go on a journey. This is a very special project that is very personal to me. In order to make a change a portion of the sales will go to a non-profit that helps children, locked up for crossing the border illegally.,
What's your vision?
UPDATED Book Cover Expectations If you love fairy tales, this is the Book Cover for you. This story is about a hungry dragon that goes to a town for food and ends up tricking the townspeople for their food. His tricks cause chaos in the town and the townspeople turn against each other. The dragon is bad, but not evil. I wanted the Van Gogh Painting style, along with the dragon, and landscape to create a magical feel. The font should help the cover achieve this fairy tale feel. If you could make a magical children's book using the 4 details I mentioned, you have a great shot at getting the gig. 1) I loved the "stary night" and Van Goghs post-impressionist style. I need an artist that can recreate two different styles A)Van Gogh's painting style B) The style of the main character, the dragon. 2) I would love to have the colors blue, green, orange, brown, and red (Maybe some purple). 3) FORMAT Create a cover that includes the rule of three, to highlight important features and add a visually appealing layout. (example included). 4) THE DRAGON A)Make the dragon without clothes, or makeup. B)His face similar in structure to the dragon fleeing image, but mischievous looking like the image with the dragon flying. SKETCH -My sketch is horrible, but hopefully, it conveyed positioning, the dragon isn't only looking at the title, but the town as well. The dragon tail points to the title and keeps the person's eyes on the image. Everything, the mountains, river, dragon and title are all on the dividing lines following the "composition rule of thirds" This guy is awesome if you want to improve your fundamentals https://youtu.be/O8i7OKbWmRM 8.02 tail 12.30 rule of thirds composition Attached below are examples of the dragon character, painting style, scenes from the book, the sketch of the cover, and an example of the colors that I would like. If you are interested, please let me know! Sincerely, Brandon Tullos
1)The Title: Make Springfield Great Again 2) The book trim is NOW 8.5x8.5 3) A) I need the book to cover front and back, so while this competition is mainly about the front, it wouldn't hurt to add a back cover. B) The back should match the front in style but doesn't have to match the image
