**What is SayWhat?** SayWhat is a video dictionary app that lets you create 10 second videos explaining your favorite words and phrases. The short videos are fun and quickly demonstrate how slang, jargon, and words you use every day are used in context. Create your own video for words like ‘Bae’, ‘Killin’ It’, and Chill by downloading SayWhat for iOS or Android. **Who is SayWhat for?** Our main target is high school/college students. Users of Vine/Yik Yak/Instagram/Snapchat **Why should I download SayWhat?** Download SayWhat if you want to express yourself creatively and set trends by sharing the best explanations for your favorite words and phrases. You could also browse videos from the community to quickly learn new concepts while being entertained. Seeing how different people use slang in different contexts can help us all understand each other better, and feel more connected with the world around us.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
We want to redesign our dinosaur Mascot "Dino." Personality of "Dino": Dino is a friendly guy in his early 20's who may have come from a different time and place and isn't the coolest guy on the block, but is staying up to date and has learned to hang with just about any crowd, because he knows the lingo. Dino's look: We would like Dino to have a distinctive, iconic shape, which we can use at different resolutions and form factors, such as the web page, app icon, splash screen, etc. It would be helpful to see different expressions, such as "Thumbs up", "What???", "Smirk". We've never had any clothes or accessories on Dino before, but have been thinking of giving him a pair of sunglasses. Color: Our app's primary colors are yellow and red, and our previous design was yellow with red spikes. We are open to suggestions on the colors, his outfit (if any) and accessories can be of other colors of course. Graphics Style: Simple, bold, not too many lines. Something in line with mascots for college targeted apps, such as Yik Yak.
We're attaching our past designs for Dino. IMPORTANT: THE REASON WE ATTACH OUR CURRENT DESIGN IS TO TELL YOU WHAT NOT TO DO, NOT WHAT YOU SHOULD IMITATE. What we don't like about the design: 1. He looks like a toddler, with one tooth 2. Shape is too soft and bubbly. What we like about the design: 1. There is an element of humor 2. The colors have good contrast and visible enough on mobile screen 3. Lines are simple What we like about the Yik Yak/Secret design: Bold colors Iconic shape Suitable for college students. Not like it's for kids. Simple lines. What we like about those two dinosaurs I attached last: Their attitude
