What's your vision?
Hi everyone. I hope this will be a fun project for you to do. I need a character illustration that depicts a group of "Office Warriors". The illustration should creatively use themes between work and fun. For example, a Paperclip Lasso, Keyboard Bracers, Elastic Band Slingshot, Tablet Body Armor, Stylus Dagger, and a Neck-Tie Headband are some of the items that appear in the game that could be incorporated into the illustration (those are just examples, feel free to be creative). The idea is that a typical office worker is also a battle-hardened warrior by misusing office equipment. The ideal illustration will have 2-3 characters (at least one male and one female) with different outfits and pose theme. For examples of pose themes, there are different kinds of warriors such as a Monk, a Ninja, a Martial Artist, a Guerrilla, a Knight, etc. The character outfits should communicate an office profession ie. Artist, Accountant, Secretary, Programmer, Customer Service Representative, etc. Style: Cartoon-Comic is the style I'm looking for. It should be silly and fun to look at. The final illustration should also be fully coloured. Designs must be 100% original. Edit 11/24/13: I think "Cartoon-Comic" is a little too vague, my sincere apologies. Here are some examples of the type of art style that I am looking for (google image search): Penny Arcade or Feakazoid Edit 11/25/13: I should also clarify: the characters should not be anthropomorphic. They should be humans who are misusing office supplies rather than a hybrid creature between humans and office supplies. Edit 11/26/13: Some designers were asking for more time so I was able to get 99 designs to extend the time limit. I have been so impressed with the quality of work being submitted, I have now guaranteed the prize. My current favorite submissions include: #5, #9, #25 and #28. These submissions have captured the silly/funny element with a usable art style that I am looking for with this theme. Please note, all final submissions must be able to be submitted in vector format. Edit 11/27/13: To further clarify the theme, I'm not looking for exaggerated items such as overly large pencils. Rather I'm looking for office items being used in an unorthodox manner such as the pencil claws in #5.
There is some creative freedom with this concept so have fun with it. I will try to provide as much feedback as possible to all submissions. Please note: it is possible that the winning designer will also be contacted for one-to-one opportunities in the future involving the character(s) created.
