looking to redesign the "recipe stats" button. Our app lets you register your ingredients & then displays how well you match to any given recipe.
It's a bar containing 4 buttons
1. cook time - this links you to the recipe steps
2 .pantry match - this links you to the recipe's ingredient list. From there you can quickly update your pantry items to improve the accuracy of the pantry match score.
3. Ratings - this links you to the recipe review and alternate versions of the recipe
4. Star - adds the recipe to your favorites (no navigation)
RE:cook time - i think this button is actually ok. However it may need to be redesigned to fit in with the other buttons.
RE:pantry match - we've tried versions that display the number of items matched, and version that display the ratio of matched ingredients to total ingredients.
Neither one felt right.
selecting the button takes you to the ingredient list, you can then update your pantry from the list (check/uncheck items).
if a person has a low match, they should be intrigued to see which ingredients they are missing and quickly update their pantry.
If a person has a high match, it gives the user a sense that they can easily make the recipe and will take a look at the ingredients to see if they are in the mood.
RE:ratings - this is currently split between two buttons, but needs to be consolidated to 1.
Our rating system is based on thumbs up/down, not number of stars. So the score that is displayed is the % of thumbs up votes.
Our main issue was how to display the number of votes and the result. for example, which is a better rating - 100% based off 1 person'ts vote, or 90% based on 500 people's vote? Ideally we'd like to convey a sense of whether the rating can be trusted.
RE:Star - this can be selected/unselected to mange favorites. It does not take the user away from the current screen.
I will need to see this in both states (selected/unselected).
