BlackMana got their new icon or button by running a design contest:
Icon for photo-real interior design iPad app
Check out BlackMana's Icon or button contest…
We develop apps primarily for iPad. Our flagship app is called "Interior Design for iPad" and this project is for its next evolution, called "TapGlance"
What's your vision?
We need an icon for our app "TapGlance". The app lets users design and build an entire interior design project from scratch, then produce a photo real render of the project, all on the iPad. See samples attached. Vector format is preferred but not a must, however, if you opt for a raster format, make sure the icon looks perfectly crisp in the following resolutions: 1024x1024, 512x512, 120x120 and 70x70. The icon should have a Retina and standard resolutions at the minimum. I'm attaching a collection of logos we like. They are all iOS6 style (with detail) which we prefer to the iOS7 flat style look. However, if you think you can do a great job with a flat icon, go for it. This contest has been extended to 7 days.
Please think how you convey the notion of photo-realism, interior design and innovation in an icon. The renders were 100% designed, built and rendered in TapGlance for iPad (currently in beta stages).
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Icon or button starts at $199.

It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their icon or button.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
BlackMana collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
