Who are you known as?
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Sidelines (http://sidelinesapp.com) is a site for high-quality discussions about sports. We have a loyal user-base of smart sports fans who love talking about sports in an insightful, authentic way. We currently have communities for the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and NCAA (College Football and basketball), and we plan to add more communities around other sports soon. You can check out our NFL community at http://sidelinesapp.com/community/nfl
Sidelines is completely free to join and I would suggest signing up and checking out the site. Any user can submit a post on a topic about sports that he or she would like to discuss. Other users can then jump in and participate in the conversation. Users can also follow other users that they find interesting, to keep up with their activity on the site.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
We are about to introduce a reputation system for Sidelines. Users will get points for writing popular posts and popular replies. These points will add up to a cumulative “Rep” score that will be displayed on each user's profile. There will be 12 levels and each user will start off at level 1. As their “rep” increases, they will move on to level 2, level 3 and so on. Users from levels 1-3 will be given a “Rookie” badge, users in levels 4-6 will be given a “Pro” badge, users in levels 7-9 will be given an “All Star” badge and users in levels 10-12 will be given a “Hall of Famer” badge. We would like these four badges designed (Rookie, Pro, All-Star, Hall of Famer). These badges will be displayed on the profile page of the user, and potentially on other parts of the site as well.
Each badge must be available in 3 sizes (85px by 85px, 50px by 50px and 30px by 30px).
