Our product provides high quality practice materials for teachers and students for high-stakes exams. The target audience here is high school teachers.
What's your vision?
We would like 4 unique icons to be designed for a new landing page we are building. The landing page will have 4 points about the benefits of a teacher license on our site and we would like an icon for each point. Below are the points we want to make about our licenses on the landing page and are the points that we need icons for. You can use these descriptions to guide your designs. I have included ideas with each icon description, but please note that I do not think my ideas are necessarily that good so I strongly encourage creative takes on these icons!! 1) World Class Content: We work with carefully selected teachers armed with decades of experience and proven classroom success to create original, high-quality, and rigorous content thats tests and explains conceptual understanding at a deep level. Ideas --> An open book with academic symbols coming out and the book is elevated to symbolize a higher level of quality, maybe incorporate a brain. Anything academic can be used, but the point is to visually symbolize quality. 2) Built for Student Engagement: We give students instant feedback, game mechanics, and analytics into their performance to keep them engaged and having fun. It’s the spoonful of sugar that helps the medicine go down. Ideas --> Maybe a lightbulb to signify understanding, a graphic of a "widget" machine, something visually showing feedback, or showing different layers stacked on each other to show the combination of a technology platform and content and the synergies. 3) Simple Implementation: No training, software to install, or headache. You will receive a unique license code that teachers and students cane use on our checkout page. You’ll be up and running in minutes. Ideas --> Reducing complexity (showing many shapes consolidating into a few for example), A missing piece being added to a bigger piece, A machine being plugged into a socket, basically anything showing the activation of something or something visually showing simplicity. 4) Flexible and Affordable: We offer flat rate licenses based on the content you want and how many students you have. We also offer per-student pricing for smaller schools and individual teachers. Ideas --> Perhaps a shelf of options with licenses represented as books with different markings, A set of three school lockers with one opened and things inside to represent one of three options selected, basically, anything related to education and visually showing options. For context, our website is http://www.learnerator.com. It is important that the icons follow the same design style so they seem like a set. They should not be something you can find already made elsewhere. They should have attention to details and be unique.
In terms of style, we want "flat", standalone, modern looking icons and not icons enclosed in a shape like a circle. The shapes should be relatively simple and clean and there should be 2-5 colors in each icon. Below are some links to icons sets that are in the style that we want: http://speckycdn.sdm.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/freebiesocti_08.jpg http://blog.eleven2.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/flaticons3.jpg http://freebiesbug.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/smallicons-free-psd.jpg ...the icons on the home page of 99designs are also good examples.
