In the app, users can also indicate if they have already got the tickets for the event or if they are willing to pay for the other party or split with the other party, etc. If they have got the tickets, it shows that they are more committed and less flaky for this date and the other party will be more willing to talk to this person. If they indicate how they will pay for the tickets, it makes it easier for the two parties to avoid any unrealistic expectations since in North American culture, males are somewhat expected to pay for the female date on the first date but it might not be the case all the time. This being said, the tickets to the event is an important element in this app, so feel free to include that in the icon design if it is suitable.
I have also uploaded some screenshots of the beta app for you references. The design is not finished yet, but you can see we have a waterfall layout for users to browse the events and then you click any of them it will enlarge and show you to the details.
Updates: I have received some concepts so far and thanks for everyone's design. I surprisingly have received a lot of design mock-ups related to geo/check in sign, but my app does not have this function - when you create a date invitation, you can indicate the location of the event, but we do not have ask users to check in. Please note this app is about finding a date to go to an cool /popular/interesting event together.
