Zebric is a phone and tablet application that enables middle and high school students to capture and upload their work in mixed media (photos, videos, Google docs, Microsoft docs, web links, etc.), tag their work with set learning goals (public speaking, teamwork, probability, scientific writing, etc.), and reflect on their learning progress. They will do this by making posts to their feed.
Teachers will then get a feed of their students' work and reflection and can give coaching and feedback on each post and confirm or adjust progress on learning goals in the app.
Ultimately, students will be able to curate their posts into a digital portfolio at the end of the semester.
The primary users will be American middle and high school students and their teachers. Teachers and administrators will be the purchasers. Therefore, we need iconography that will be relevant and attractive to students without turning off teachers and administrators.
The name Zebric comes from the words "easy" and "rubric." A grading rubric is a tool teachers use to communicate expectations about each learning goal and to set standards for evaluation.
