Damon51 got their new icon or button by running a design contest:
Create medals to recognize teacher achievement
Check out Damon51's Icon or button contest…
The product is a website that encourages teachers to learn technical skills that they can use in the classroom. The website tracks teachers' progress and encourages friendly competition by awarding medals (badges) upon successful completion of collections of courses. For example, if a teacher completes 10 basic courses on technology, they would win/unlock the Bronze Medal. A teacher that unlocks the Platinum medal will have already unlocked Bronze, Silver, and Gold. This concept is similar to concepts on social networking sites such as Foursquare.
What's your vision?
We are looking to have 5 medals designed. Teachers win successive medals when they successfully complete collections of courses. These medals will appear on a website, in their email signatures, and may be printed on banners. Medals need to scale to at least the following sizes: 57px x 57px 120px x 120px 230px x 230px 14 inches x 14 inches The medals have 5 general color themes ordered by achievement: Bronze Silver Gold Platinum Chrome And the medals should present a unique technical progression: Disk drive (or floppy disk) Laptop WiFi Tablet (iPad) Cloud Please see attached icons for examples.
